DESIGNING MIRACLES FOR ANY MEDIUM.
In 2008, our co-founder Matthew Holtzclaw worked with Teller and Aaron Posner in developing the bloody, spectacular special effects for a new production of Macbeth. In a glowing review, The Wall Street Journal called it "horrific and riveting," and urged that it "ought to be seen by as many people as possible."
In 2009, we created the illusions and live special effects for Haunted Poe in Philadelphia – a 10,000 sq ft horror house inspired by the short stories of Edgar Allen Poe – and coached the talented Christopher Fitzgerald for his starring role in Finian's Rainbow on Broadway. Philadelphia Weekly hailed Haunted Poe as "the best production of the season," and Chris Fitzgerald was nominated for a Tony Award and won the Drama Desk Award for his role.
In 2010 we designed the rig that would enable David Duchovny to float in midair for the climactic moment in Neil LaBute's The Break of Noon. The New York Times called it a "nifty coup de théâtre."
Along the way, we've also consulted for numerous Broadway and regional plays, commercials, and TV shows including: Dracula, Godspell, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Julius Caesar, and the current off-Broadway hit, Play Dead.
If your production involves magic, sleight-of-hand, illusion, or anything involving trickery and deception, call us. And, remember: The earlier in the process you contact us, the more we can do for you.
Current projects include Wonderland on Broadway, and Nathan Phillips's My Lie Story.
